A joint Writing rubric for General Education assessment

Dear Colleagues,

The purpose of this blog is to discuss and compare the different rubrics for the writing requirements.  Each school created its own rubric, with an emphasis on different performance criteria.

The next task is the creation of a joint Writing rubric for General Education assessment. This is indeed the purpose of this working space on the CUNY Academic Commons: to share a space where we can interact and discuss the various issues related to this task.

The documents created within the assessment committees of  each school are stored in the “documents” section. I believe our first task should be to decide which performance criteria we want to include in the joint rubric, and then how to describe the four different levels of achievement.
